San Diego Agroforestry Training for Natural Resources Professionals
In early May, the California Agroforestry Network was honored to host a San Diego Agroforestry Training for Natural Resource Professionals in partnership with the National Association of Conservation Districts and the USDA National Agroforestry Center.
Over three days, participants gathered for hands-on learning, farm visits, and conversations about the future of agroforestry in California.
Together, we explored how agroforestry can support climate-resilient landscapes, healthy ecosystems, and thriving communities, particularly within our unique Southern California ecosystems.
Virtual Resources
California Agroforestry Network's Virtual Resources Library
The California Agroforestry Network's Virtual Resources Library is a growing collection of trusted publications, technical guides, webinars, videos, decision-support tools, and educational materials designed to support agroforestry adoption across California and beyond. Resources span the five recognized agroforestry practices—alley cropping, forest farming, riparian forest buffers, silvopasture, and windbreaks—as well as related topics such as funding opportunities, policy, climate resilience, planning, and implementation. The library brings together CAN’s own resources, along with partner resources from the dozens of universities, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and experienced practitioners that make up our network.

Bi-Monthly Peer-to-Peer Networking
CAN hosts virtual peer-to-peer networking meetings every other month to connect people who are working to advance agroforestry across California. These informal gatherings provide a welcoming space for practitioners, researchers, technical assistance providers, agency staff, nonprofit organizations, educators, and landowners to build relationships, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
Each meeting features a presentation from a network member, followed by facilitated discussions on topics affecting agroforestry in California. Whether you're just beginning to explore agroforestry or have decades of experience, these meetings offer an opportunity to ask questions, seek advice from peers, discover new collaborations, and stay connected to the growing agroforestry community.
