DEMONSTRATION SITES

The California Agroforestry Network's Demonstration Sites Team works together to identify and showcase exemplary agroforestry sites across California. At the heart of this work is a simple belief: farmers learn best from other farmers.

 

While research and technical guidance are essential, there is no substitute for hearing directly from the people who are designing, managing, and adapting agroforestry systems on working lands. The Demonstration Sites Team meets regularly to identify farms and ranches that have valuable stories to share. We seek out operations that reflect California's diverse climates, production systems, and land management goals, recognizing that every agroforestry journey is unique.

 

Our goal is to elevate farmers' successes while also creating space for honest conversations about the realities of implementation. The stories and relationships cultivated through the Demonstration Sites Team are woven throughout the California Agroforestry Network's educational programming, including field days, workshops, webinars, case studies, videos, and other learning opportunities. By centering the voices of producers and connecting them with peers, we are building a statewide network of living examples that demonstrate what agroforestry looks like—and what it can become—across California.

 

Together, we're creating more than a map of demonstration sites—we're building a network of stories, relationships, and shared experiences that help accelerate agroforestry adoption throughout California.
